What actually happens

Wallet to dead address, one transaction

The portal moves your tokens straight from your wallet to the dead address. It never holds them. Pools.trade tokens need one signature; most others need an approval first, then the burn.

Nobody has the key

The dead address has no known private key. Tokens sent there cannot move again. It is the same mechanism behind every burn on Robinhood Chain.

Which numbers change

CoinGecko, Dexscreener and GeckoTerminal subtract the dead address, so the total supply they show drops right away. The raw on-chain totalSupply() stays put for launchpad tokens, whose contracts have no burn function.

Stock tokens are off limits

Robinhood stock and ETF tokens are claims on real shares. Burning one destroys the claim with no refund, so this site refuses them.
